As I reflect on the upcoming gubernatorial election in Anambra State , I ponder on the future of the state and the options democracy presents to us. Democracy is more than the act of casting ballots every election cycle ; it is a process of nurturing trust, consolidating progress, and ensuring continuity in governance. Good leadership, when found, ought to be rewarded with the mandate to complete its mission. In Anambra State, the forthcoming gubernatorial election presents Ndi Anambra with a historic choice: to sustain the purposeful and transformational leadership of Professor Charles Chukwuma Soludo or to gamble with the unknown. This is a very consequential election for Ndi Anambra. The answer, by every measure of reason and fairness, is continuity.Zoning in Anambra is a chain that must not be broken. Some may ask: why not try a new leader? The answer is straightforward. Governance is not trial-and-error. The first term is for laying foundations; the second term is for consolidation. Continuity, therefore is not about politics—it is about protecting the destiny of Anambra State. It is about ensuring that the classrooms already built are filled with pupils and teachers, that the roads already started are completed, that the digital hubs already launched expand, and that the peace already restored is strengthened. In leadership, trust is a sacred covenant. Ndi Anambra entrusted Soludo with their mandate, and he has served with integrity, modesty, and a clear sense of purpose. Now, fairness demands that we reward proven service with support. Loyalty to leadership must not be one-sided; just as Soludo has kept faith with the people, Ndi Anambra must keep faith with him by giving him a second term to consolidate his vision. To those who nurse ambitions and I speak directly to my friends in YPP, let it be said: ambition is not evil, but timing is everything. This is not the season for division. It is the season for unity, for rallying behind a tested leader who has proven capacity. I expect my friend from Anambra North and his team to align with Soludo, strengthen his government, and prepare for their turn when the time comes. Politics is not about ego—it is about service, and wisdom demands that we place collective progress above personal ambition. This election is not just about Prof. Soludo as a person; it is about the future of Anambra. Do we want to return to abandoned projects and instability, or do we want to complete what has been started? Do we want to waste another four years in learning curves, or do we want to consolidate progress? Do we want to gamble with uncertainty or secure the prosperity of our children? Do we want to break the beautiful chain of zoning and go back to the era where one part of the state dominated our political landscape. The choice is clear. The path of wisdom is continuity. The honourable decision is to return Professor Charles Chukwuma Soludo as Governor of Anambra State on November 8th.By re-electing him, we are not just voting for a man—we are voting for stability, progress, and prosperous homeland. We are voting for the dignity of our women, the future of our youths, the security of our communities, and the economic transformation of our state.Let us rise with one voice, Ndi Anambra, and declare boldly: Soludo deserves a second term. For progress. For unity. For prosperity. Let us do the right thing.
